The 2020 World University ranking was released at 7 p.m. British time (2: 00 a.m. Beijing time on September 12,), THE (Times higher Education). Since 2004, the ranking has been updated annually, and this year`s ranking is by far the largest number of institutions involved, with 1396 universities from 92 countries participating in the ranking.
Ranking basis
The indicators in terms of ranking are consistent with those of last year, with five indicators and their share:

Australia: Australia`s highest ranking university is still the University of Melbourne, unchanged from last year and still ranked 32th in the world. Most of the universities listed in Australia have improved their rankings.
2020 THE World University ranking TOP200
Oxford University topped the global rankings for the fourth year in a row, while California Institute of Technology rose from fifth to second place. Cambridge, Stanford and MIT all fell one place to third, fourth and fifth, respectively, while Princeton and Harvard ranked sixth and seventh, respectively. Yale University ranked eighth, Chicago University rose one place to ninth, while Imperial College London dropped one place to 10th.
