Oxley Wild Rivers National Park is located in the northern highland of (New England Region), northeast New South Wales, about 520km from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales. It is about 180km by car from (Coffs Harbor), a major town on the northeast coast of New South Wales, and the nearest town is Amidair (Armidale), National Park, which covers an area of about 1452.33 square kilometers.

Oxley Wild Rivers National Park is part of UNESCO's assessment of the World Natural Heritage: part of (Gondwana Rainforests of Australia), Australia's Gonwana rainforest, NSW's famous self-driving landscape waterfall route (Waterfall Way) passes through the National Park.

The Grand Canyon and the Grand Canyon between the northern highlands of Oxley Wild Rivers National Park and the East Coast, with huge valleys and waterfalls, a wide wilderness and a tropical rain forest. The National Park has a number of rivers and waterfalls. The main streams are the Apsley River, the Macleay River, the Wolombi River, the Chandler River, the Tia River, the Oaks River, the Gara River, the Yarrowitz River, the Oaks River, and the Kunideang Brook, etc. The main falls are: the Wolombi Falls, the Apsley Falls, the Tia Falls, and the Gus Falls.
