Red Leaf viewing in Bright Town, Melbourne's best way to open autumn (included with Gala Day accommodation playbook)

[Free Tour]     07 Apr 2019
Brett (Bright), 323km northeast of Melbourne, is about three hours away from the city. The town rose from the gold rush of 1850 and is now dominated by tourism, the most famous of which is the alternation of red and yellow in autumn. Any glance is a landscape painting.

Every year, the town hosts the autumn festival (Bright Autumn Festival), which runs from late April to early May for 10 days (2019 from April 26 to May 5). On Saturday, May 4, there are bazaars and parades in downtown Gala Day,. If you want to avoid large-scale tourists, you can go before the 4th, if you like the bustle, you can have a perfect weekend on the 4th and 5th (the Student Party can go at Semester Break, or you can play a dose of cardio at a time before the Final sprint). However, to book in advance Oh, we did not look at the accommodation in advance, to the back has been all booked, and finally chose camping, it is also a great experience (Bright will be introduced to various accommodation later).

Bright

I went to Gala Day that day, and I didn't imagine many tourists, so there's still a lot of this kind of scene with few people, but there's a place where the sky can be photographed.

You can walk in to the vineyard.

Under the big tree, holding the coffee, I was stunned to suffocate.

Bright, boss Liu is using his drones to find another perspective.

Bright accommodation

These are the basic modes of accommodation available in Bright:

  • There are three ways to live in a car camp park: a private car, a tent, and a small house in the park, (Cabin).
  • Motel / lodging (Airbnb)

Bright Cabin Caravan Park

In May, Melbourne was already colder, and Bright was two or three degrees lower, not to mention in the evening, so I had to be ready for camping (I brought home's warmest quilt, air cushion bed, moisture pad, hot kettle, and a small heater at that time. At night, the temperature of 0 degrees outside is too warm in the tent.

This is the official website for our camping site: https://www.campcrusty.com.au

Address: 106 Coronation Avenue, 3741 Bright, Australia

(* this park facility is relatively old, but because it is too late to book, this is the only option left.)

Camp points are scheduled to be charged by head:

Point of electricity and water: $22 per person over 16 years of age; $5-and-a-half price for 16-and-a-half years old

No electricity and no water on the campsite: $18 / person over 16 years old; $5 / 16 half price

This is where we camp (only 2 kilometers from the center of town), there is a faucet in front of the car, there is power supply on the lamp pole next to the car, but we have to take an extension line or a drag board to connect the electricity to the vicinity of the tent, otherwise the electricity will be more troublesome. This camping point can make a fire, if there is no heater, you can make a small fire and look at the stars and look at the Milky way. If you don't want to make a fire by yourself, you can walk a few steps to the front desk and there will be a good bonfire, and you can sit there and chat and blow the water with others. BBQ equipment is also available in the park.

The park is also reserved for cabins, but for the autumn weekend (5.4-5.5), you can book only one bed-only cabin (public bathroom) for one night, and at least two nights for the rest.

If you don't buy firewood, then decorate our tent with a small lamp. There's also a fairy stick that has been pressing on the bottom of a box for a long time.

Later in the night, some of our 'neighbors' were drinking and chatting, some driving to town for dinner, some at the front desk bonfire to warm up, and we were watching the play in the tent with the heat on. The tree next to our tent would have a nut-like fruit, falling all over the floor, so while watching the play, we would hear possum crawling down the tree and crunching from time to time.

BIG4 Bright Holiday Park

I went to the area and found a better camping site, BIG4 Bright Holiday Park (Booking score 8. 9, as I said we were living at a camp site where the facilities were older. I went to the area and found a better camp site. 8. 9.)

Reservation: https://www.big4.com.au/caravan-parks/vic/victorias-high-country/bright-alpine-cabins-holiday-park/booking/search

But this autumn festival is too hot, after all, more than 10 days a year, so BIG4 Bright Holiday Park has to book at least five nights for a stay (camping point or cabin) across Gala Day, if it is delayed for a week. You can book only one night on weekdays and at least two nights on weekends. Personally, this is not worth the money, Bright to go two or three days is more or less.

Many of these camp parks in Australia are very safe (recently living in a park owned by BIG4, clean and tidy, well-planned, well-equipped and well-equipped)-I would give priority to this kind of camp park when two or four people go to visit it. The price is almost as good as a motel, and I like it to have a kitchenette where BBQ, can have entertainment facilities (swimming pool, table tennis, children's play area,.), has a door facing the sea, and it's clean and comfortable).

Park hut

An easy-to-use Web site for booking accommodation has recently been discovered & # 39 wot if' Oh, it's better than Bbooking. I'm a Genius member at Booking (10% discount on some accommodations), but I'm cheaper at Wot if. When you open your page, you'll have a 10% discount if you book through Cashrewards. There will be additional rebates (different times and different rates of return), and that will be even more cost-effective! (I ordered a 20% discount)

Now I have found these accommodation is still very cost-effective, but the situation is relatively serious, many have been booked.

Motel Motel

Bright also has a lot of motels, the information center visitor center in town has a lot of recommended accommodations, and you'll see a lot of motels all the way to town. But book ahead of time during the autumn festival (4-5 May 2019, gala day accommodation)

If the number of people can also consider Airbnb, we were only two people so did not consider.

Go to town center for a Lazy brunch (brunch in the morning and recommend: Ginger Baker., a brunch store with a score of 4. 1 on Zomato

This is a cafe store filled with warm yellow in the chimney of the river. It's cold outside, but you feel so warm and welcomed~ in the middle of it.

Next to Ginger Baker is Howitt Park. After eating, you can go for a walk and feel the beautiful Bright..
